Session Description: This session will discuss relevant issues surrounding Childhood Obesity including the definition, prevalence, maintenance methods, parental resources, prevention strategies, and practical applications for dealing with this epidemic.

Session Objectives:
Session participants will learn about:

1. The Definition of Childhood Obesity
2. Intervention Methods/Red Flags
3. Contributing Factors and When to Seek Medical Care
4. Giving Parents Tools to Cope
5. Available Exams/Tests
6. Prevention and Maintenance Methods
7. Helpful Resources

Technology Requirements:
Participants registering for programs should have access to the following technology for best viewing and participation:

• Personal computer with Macintosh or Windows with 512 MB of RAM
• Broadband internet connection such as an office LAN, DSL, or cable modem
• Phone next to personal computer (or speaker phone if multiple people are viewing)
• Computer speakers (built-in or attached)
• Latest version of Adobe Flash which can be downloaded for free at http://www.adobe.com/
